IELTS Exam Fee: Know the Fee Structure of IELTS 2023

What is IELTS? 

The most well-known English language test is the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). As this test helps the ability of a person to communicate where English is used as the main language or you can say primary language. IELTS is recognized in a number of important nations, including the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. In less than three hours, the test evaluates a person’s listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills. Moreover, the IELTS exam fee varies in India based on the test you are taking. 

IELTS is of two types: Academic and General Training. Speaking and Listening are the same on both exams, but Reading and Writing have different topics depending on which test you take. There are no time duration gaps between the Listening, Reading, and Writing sections of any IELTS exam; they are all finished on the same day. Overall test is 2 hours and 45 minutes in duration.

Cancellation Cost of IELTS 

Students who have applied for the IELTS exam are eligible to cancel the exam and get a refund. But the eligibility criteria for this are:- 

  • You should have applied for cancellation of the exam more than 5 weeks before the exam is scheduled. You will get the refund but the 25% administrative fee will be deducted from your paid amount for IELTS. 
  • If the exam cancellation is done in less than 5 weeks then no refund will be there. 
  • If you have any health issues and not being able to take the exam. Then you should submit the medical certificate 5 days before. And you will get the refund but the administrative fee will be deducted.

Rechecking Cost of IELTS

If you are not satisfied with the score you have got. Then you can ask for the rechecking of the exam and the cost of that is ₹11,625. 

  • If you have to ask for the rechecking/ remarking then you should submit the EOR’s that is Enquiry on results. Moreover, it is your wish to get the whole exam rechecked or only a particular section. 
  • Hence, if you score a higher band then the fee will be refunded to you for sure.

Rescheduling Cost of the IELTS exam 

Just in case if you want to reschedule the date of the IELTS exam then you should inform more than 5 weeks before the date the exam is scheduled. The amount of ₹3,300 should be paid for the exam to be rescheduled. Therefore, the new date should be chosen within three months and also the cancellation fee will also be deducted. 

You should pay attention to the rescheduling and cancellation of the exam only once. After that, you will not be able to reschedule it and will also not get a refund.

For Getting Additional TRF’s 

TRF is a Test Report Form that is a copy of the result of IELTS. Usually, every candidate gets 5 TRFs from IDP India. 

In case you want more than 5 TRF then you can request it. Hence, for that, you have to pay the additional fee. 

  • For the airmail, you should pay ₹250 for each and it will reach at their destinations within 2 weeks. 
  • As for the Courier, you have to pay ₹1,500 for each and every courier will reach at their place in 4 days. 
  • To get an Electronic TRF you have to pay ₹250.

Modes of Payment for IELTS Exam Fee 

Since, the methods which are used for the registration process will be used as the modes of payment. So, let us discuss the modes of payment for the IELTS exam. 

  • Bank Deposit: If you have done registration offline, then the payment can be done through bank deposit and IDP India will download the bank deposit slip. 
  • Net Banking, Debit or Credit Card Payment: If you have done the registration online then you should pay the fees through credit card or debit card or by net banking. 
  • Demand Draft: This mode of payment is only done when it is done from the approved banks only.
